I am comparing a Delhi-Toronto-Chicago itinerary on separate tickets, arriving at 15:40 and departing at 18:10 with one checked suitcase. I feel uneasy because the connection is described as international-to-international, but I need to know whether baggage collection, a new boarding pass or immigration changes the passport document requirement before purchase.
Decide from the exact passport, airports, airline, ticketing, baggage process and destination permission; an international-to-international label is not enough. Ask the carrier where baggage, immigration and check-in occur, put the flight numbers into IRCC’s current guidance, and save the answer. Checklist: passport, onward US document, both tickets, baggage plan and contingency for a missed connection. A separate ticket or overnight stop can change the analysis, so verify again at check-in: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada.html.
