India's Ministry of External Affairs stated in a parliamentary answer dated April 2, 2026 that India had not added any new nationality to its visa-on-arrival scheme in the previous five years.
The scheme is limited to Japanese and South Korean nationals, and to UAE nationals who have previously obtained an Indian e-Visa or regular or paper visa. The answer does not replace the detailed conditions published by India's immigration authorities.
The facility is not a general visa-on-arrival option for all foreign visitors. Eligible travelers should confirm the current entry points, permitted purposes, documents, fees and any nationality-specific exclusions before departure.
