Indonesia expands real-time passenger data exchange with airlines

Indonesia Immigration says real-time data exchange with airlines will support pre-departure and pre-arrival checks of international passengers.

Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration reported on August 7, 2026 that real-time passenger data exchange with airlines is being used to support faster immigration checks.

The system exchanges passenger information before departure and arrival and can support electronic verification of travel documents. Airlines may receive an “ok to board” or “not ok to board” response when the relevant checks are completed.

The announcement does not change a traveler's visa category or permitted stay. It does mean that passport, visa and passenger information should be entered accurately and consistently before travel.
