Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs published updated eVISA information on May 15, 2026. The system is for eligible foreign nationals traveling to Japan for short-term tourism.
Residents of China apply through an accredited agency. The page also lists separate application channels for residents of countries and regions including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Indonesia, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
The eVISA is a single-entry short-term tourism visa. Travelers must arrive by air or on the specified international passenger ferry routes and must display the online Visa issuance notice at the airport; screenshots and printed copies are not accepted.
