Malaysia opens eVISA applications to eligible foreign citizens

Malaysia Immigration says foreign citizens who require a visa and have diplomatic relations with Malaysia can use the official eVISA application channel.

Malaysia's Immigration Department published an information notice on August 19, 2025, stating that eVISA applications are open to foreign citizens who require a visa and whose countries have diplomatic relations with Malaysia.

The notice concerns access to the application channel. It does not turn a visa-required nationality into a visa-exempt nationality and does not itself guarantee approval or entry.

Applicants should use the official Malaysian Immigration eVISA process and confirm the visa type, permitted stay, entry conditions and supporting documents that apply to their nationality and travel purpose.
