Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the signing of a mutual visa exemption agreement with China on January 28, 2024. The agreement entered into force on March 1, 2024.
Valid Thai ordinary passport holders and valid Chinese ordinary and public-affairs passport holders may enter, exit or transit the other country without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days per visit. Total stays may not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period.
The exemption does not cover residence, employment, study, media activities or other activities that require prior approval. Travelers using another passport type or traveling for another purpose should check the applicable visa route.
