UK Visas and Immigration updated its ETA guidance on April 9, 2026. The update confirms that an ETA can be used to travel to the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
An ETA permits a visit of up to six months, but it does not allow employment, access to public funds or repeated visits used to establish residence. Travelers must check whether their nationality is eligible for an ETA or needs a visa instead.
Each traveler, including each child, needs a separate ETA. The authorization is linked to the passport used in the application, so a new passport requires a new authorization.
